Services for Sharon Stalvey will be held at 11 a.m. Sharon is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard Stalvey of Valdosta two sons and a daughter-in-law, Cam and Brandi Stalvey of Valdosta, and Harrison Stalvey of Superior, Colorado her sister, Susan Powell, of Alameda, CA her life-long friend, Charlotte McRanie of Black Mountain, North Carolina, and a long-time caregiver and friend, Rose Stacks of Valdosta. She worked and ministered in various areas of her church from being a chancel choir member, participating in numerous Bible study groups, and working as both a cast member, and working with public relations publications for the well- known passion play of God Hath Provided the Lamb, now called The Carpenter of Nazareth. Sharon was a member of the Valdosta Junior Service League, Readers Forum, was active in her bridge club and was a member of Park Ave Church and the Grace Dennis Sunday School Class for 45 years. She later took a position as an adjunct professor with Wiregrass. Sharon graduated from Valdosta State College in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in education and taught special education in both the Valdosta and Lowndes County school systems. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 27, 1955, to the late James Edward and Sara Elizabeth Brinson Williams, and grew up in Albany, Georgia. Stalvey, 67, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Langdale Hospice House following a period of declining health.
